STEP 2. VEHICLE ELIGIBILITY

To be eligible for Club Rego / Club Permit your vehicle needs to be a minimum of 25 years old. Vehicles newer than this are not eligible. A club permit vehicle must comply with the Vehicle Standards, appropriate to the date the vehicle was manufactured, contained in Schedule 2 of the Road Safety (Vehicles) Regulations 2009.

STEP 3. GET A ROADWORTHY CERTIFICATE

Your vehicle must pass a Victorian Roadworthy Certificate (RWC) and you must have a valid RWC at the time of your Club Rego / Club Permit application. Most mechanics within Victoria can provide you with a RWC. As a community garage, Kustom Kommune, can put you in touch with a mechanic for an inspection if you need assistance.

STEP 4. INSPECTION WITH MACHINE SOCIAL

Organise an appointment with one of our #MachineSocial scrutineers at the Kustome Kommune (Melbourne) or Nevermind Adventure (Geelong). Download and fill out VicRoads Club Permit / Club Rego Application. Have these documents ready for your inspection. If you don't have a printer, we'll have paper work on site for you.

STEP 5. GET YOUR PLATES

After your vehicle inspection with Machine Social, head to any VicRoads office with your signed paperwork. Closest to Kustom Kommune is the CBD or Carlton office.
You don't need to take your motorcycle to Vic Roads, just your club paperwork and Vic Roadworthy Certificate. There are two main options for Club Permit / Club Rego: 45 day permits and 90 day permits. After completion you will receive a log book and red plates from VicRoads. You must fill out your log book each time you use your vehicle. Failure to do so will result in a fine for driving an unregistered vehicle.

CAN I TRANSFER MY VEHICLES TO MACHINE SOCIAL?

Yes, you can transfer Club Permit / Club Rego vehicles between approved vehicle clubs. No, you don’t need a RWC to do so.¬†If you wish to transfer your club permit vehicle to another approved car club you must provide to us:
